
Ever since I was a child, my hands were always dirty from playing with sand and mud. I still allow the earth to be the source of inspiration and knowledge. The hands I dip in clay shape the dreams and let the emotions come out. Each of my works is a further foray into the hunt for the form which visualizes all of my hidden desires of beauty.
Working with clay is intuitive. All of the small unnamed thoughts that we have allow the new works to take shape. Most of my sculptures are limited to the rather earthly palette of colors – these colors are calm, harmonious and closely align with the natural world.
The popularity boom of Ibero-American had lead me to take an interest in the culture and the art of both American continents. Of special interest to me are the native drawings and textile patterns. I try to draw inspiration from then when working on my own creations, treating it as a humble tribute to the culture of the indigenous people.
Looking at a piece of art, one can get an insight into the inner thoughts of its author.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk has allowed me to develop the skill-set necessary to be both an artist and an art teacher. Now I understand that to be a ceramicist it to spend one’s life in a workshop, completely immersed in one’s thoughts…
